use a test light in between the cap and the power line, when it gets dim your good to go, i've also hooked them up without charging them, hook it then hook up the amp, worst that ever happened when i didn't charge it was a small spark... the big three really is the way to go though... disconnect battery, ground cap separate, cap will stay charged unless something is draining it.
hook it up...The way the jeep altenators are the ground is secured in this plastic boot on the back of the altenator, and to get a 0 gauge terminal in there is basically impossible. I dont feel like ****ing with that. Its so much easier to just pop in a better battery and a cap. I honestly dont need either one but the battery will be better off for the jeeps sake, and the cap just beacuse I have one laying around I might as well use it.
