Capacitor>?

Every 500 RMS you need 1 farad and so on and so on
th****? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/handclap.gif.0c301076f534e244f0460706894f19e0.gif tard

1000 watts/ farad. And peak doesn't mean shit. I hate ****s that brag about peak and I love telling them my RMS is bigger than their peak.

And if you'd get your head out of your *** for 2 seconds, you'll see that bragging and talking shit about other peoples' systems only makes you look like a ****tard.

Do the world a favor and go trip an SUV with your neck. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

Sorry I posted this after everything was said and done, but I was just reading through the thread and couldn't help but comment on this kid and his problem with staying on topic. GO PACKERS!

i would say its the 200amp alternator keeping the voltage steady, and not the cap. if it was a stock alt, like my 70amp in my civic, and the results were the same, i'd think differently of caps.
sorry just had to add, that the extremely high amperage alternators (180amp+) only put out the high amperage at a very high RPM. so if you're going to be keeping your engine idle at 5k RPM, then yeah, getting a high amp alternator's all cool. otherwise, run dual lower amp alternators, like dual 140s, like myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That depends entirely on the design of the alternator. There are a couple of people on here with alts that have tested at over 140A @ idle.

mine runs at about 120 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif but you'll never find a 200Amp output alternator at idle.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif so when they say "240 amp alternator", realize it's not idle.

Well, um, duh. They probably won't run 240A at any RPM once they get hot either. Unless you are running a serious competition SPL vehicle where you are playing sinewaves, 140A or even 120 at idle should be way more than enough. Sure beats the typical stock alt that is doing around 30-40 at idle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Never say never as far as the 200A at idle either. It can be done.
