Capacitor Fried ?????

I just recently had a problem with my car. My alternator and battery fried on me. Now here is the big problem, after I replaced both I redid all my wiring from the battery to the cap and then to the amp. When I came to turn the stereo on the cap is cutting of (voltage meter goes blank) and of course the amp is not working:( . I was wondering is it possible to fry your cap considering I did it to both the battery and alternator:crap: . I was going to run the power directly to the amp and see if the problem is the cap:confused: . I have never had this happen to me before since I usually replace the battery and alternator before anything I just had not got around to it yet (its my work car and I work to **** much that I dont have much time for anything:( ). Any help would be appreciated at least untill I have time to try and run the power direct to the amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif .

Well I tried to run the power direct to the amp and it does play very distorted and the power light on the amp flickers off and on:furious: . I thought may be the speaker wires might have been touching each other inside the box, but that was not the case either. I even tried another pair of subs I had sitting in my room and still the same. To me it seems like a short somewhere as if the amp is not getting enough power. Sometime this week I am probably just going to rip all the wiring out and start over again. It is just weird has this just began when the battery and alternator fried.
