Can't identify these cables in my new (used) car

I recently purchased a 2003 Saab 9-3. There is a 2.5cm by 2.5cm XM Satellite radio receiver hanging out on the outside of the car at the top left of the windshield. Inside, there are two cables sticking out of the dash. I've attached the picture below. Can anyone help me identify these cables and what they are for? I know nothing about satellite radio (assuming they are for the satellite radio). I am trying to figure out if I can splice a 3.5mm jack into one of the cables to use as aux for my mp3 player. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Okay. I am obviously quite ignorant about satellite radio. If one is to power the unit and the other is to connect to the external antenna, how would the previous owner have been able to play the audio through the speakers? Or do the satellite radio units have built in speakers? Thanks in advance for your patience. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I think what I'll end up doing is just tucking the wires back behind/into the dash and forgetting about them unless anyone has a better idea. Thanks for the input!
