I bet Chuck Norries does crimping with his butthole //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
thats the greatest thing ive heard all day

a 2 ton shop press with a v shaped wedge and anvil work really well, no busted fingers and less effort, that is if you got one avail., you could really take the effort out of it and use a hydraulic log splitter,.... any business where you can buy custom made hydraulic lines has a type of crimping machine that crimps the fitting from all sides at once, ive used one of these, and the collets are interchangeable for diff size lines , but if thats not yur cup o tea, then use a floor jack and sandwich the fitting under a car, all these methods have worked for me in the past while i did alot of welding lead repair and didnt have a big enough crimping tool, sometimes you need to improvise

solder adding resistance? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif this is the first i am hearing of this. my job requires i only solder all my connections for alarms, r/s, and system components. i will do some testing when i get to work today and read it out with a dmm. i will post results later on. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
Well the thing is most ppl who solder 0 gauge use rosin core solder which is lead/tin. If we were to use silver solder than that would provide the least resistance/most conductivity. Solder is mainly used because its a pretty strong connection but IMO nothing is typically better than a copper on copper crimp connection

We still need to know what amp is having the issue, make and model. Some mono amps only have 1 preamp input and the other is a output.
