You should just sell it to me for 20 dollars. shipped.

Well... considering you probably wont, lol.... all it looks like to me is a broken tinsel lead. Break out the soldering iron and go to work.

no way!

Yeah like i said i never checked to see if i was clipping it. I didnt have a DMM. So does anyone have a clue how to get a Recone from RD. i sent them an email inquireing about one?

Disregaurd what i said. Seem like too much powwwaaa burns up leads. I thought you might have just snapped them.

I'd be willing to be the majority of the people in here don't know what clipping is, and more importantly, why it hurts a sub.

Also, just solder those tinsel leads and you should be good to go, as long as you make a good connection. No need for a recone kit.

And finally, buy a DMM! You can get a cheap one that will do all you need for ~$20. If you can afford the hundreds of dollars on the rest of your setup, surely you can afford $20 for the DMM. If you need help setting your gains, just shoot me a PM.

There is different types of clipping, signal and and power clipping. Signal clipping is where you lose the tips of the waveform this is least destructive and has been proven really not to be a threat. Now power clipping or amplifier clipping is caused by not having enough input power, this is highly destructive, shooting straight DC voltage to the sub and because power flows negative to positive this is probably why both negatives are cashed... Polo..

Ok so no soldering?....So recone? If so the kind folks at RD have yet to reply to my email i sent the day my speaker died. What other choices do i have. I have to have this fixed before Nov.
