the exact symptoms happend to a friend of mines. Turns out he was trying to power something he didnt have the power to back it up, so the amp tried making its own kinda power and clipped burned the hell out of the leads. he regretted buying that cap after i told him to get the alty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif now he has alty and banging strong

those leads look burnt to me. Too much power or a clipped signal.

Ok so I solder them together or recone? I probably clipped them. I dont have a DMM and im not to sure how to check for clipping.

I would say it was a clipped signal cuz those subs are rated for 2,000watts RMS and by your sig I see you have a sundown 1500.

Yea, even though those Sundown can generally give 1750+ @ 1 ohm.

At full bore clipping I have measured about 2200 watts from a 1500D... on a 2kw rated sub that still should not burn leads.

Wonder if they shorted together across that metal spider ring? The first pic has burn marks ON the spider ring.
