Can you paint subwoofer surrounds?

I have the Sundown SD's. No clue what kind of surround it is, feels like foam. I'm interested in painting the surrounds to match the black and red theme of my new box which also matches my car.

So can it be painted and if so what should I use? If not then can I pain the cone or dust cap? I don't want to hinder the performance of the sub of course.

cones and dustcaps can be painted with paint. the surround is a no go. to much movement is what i was told by fixmyspeaker.com. i would call them and order u one of their dustcaps and ask about the kind of paint they use.

Ok so no surround and the dust cap is ok but will slightly alter the thiele parameters......tough one. That kinda ***** plus it would remove the logo...hey I could paint a PYLE logo on it!!!

Crap, I dunno what to do now.

But I am almost serious about a PYLE logo lol.

Of the 3 subs, one in the center will be facing downward with a plexi window on the front...to show off the back. I think I may just paint the frame or magnet boot red which will match the front of the box. Maybe with the other 2 subs I'll just paint the outside rim logo red as well to help accent it some.
