I was gonna say a used Boston acoustics gt-50 off
eBay would be perfect, they can even be mounted upside down.
I like the amp, I like the brand.. Looks aren't a priority at all for me. The amp will be hidden.. mostly because it's the look I want.. the entire system besides the headunit obviuosly will look stock (like nothing was ever put in the car.. while in the car).. Plus, it never hurts not to have huge amps and subs for passerby's to glance in to tempt them.. Even though I have the darkest legal tint on the car.. so it's not easy to see in it.
I had a headunit and a 350watt kenwood amp stolen out of my 300ZX years ago.. in a good neighboorhood.. so that stuff happens everywhere. Odd thing is this was a good, residential neighborhood.. and I was deep into it, and whoever took this stuff had professional lock picking/popping tool(s).. as the doors were not fully closed, and I always locked it. Meh.. was a long time ago.
That BA, GT-50, is 55 watts x 4, and 250watts x 1 -- My 100watt fronts and 300 watt sub would obviously run with less than full RMS power.. I'm looking to hit them with their rated power.
I think with my budget it's probably going to be , starting anyway,.. the components up front, and the sub -- then 1 amp to drive 2 , 100watt speakers x 2.. and the sub 300watts x 1. The CT Sounds amp .. 125.4:
Ct Sounds 125 4 Amp Amplifier 125W RMS 250W Max Class A B 4 Channel 2 Ohm | eBay
Really seems like the best fit for the 3 speaker setup. No one has said it's a piece of crap,.. I am patient, no rush on this obviously.. but that's a fair amount of clean power for the money.. and gives headroom which I like.. should help keep temps down on the amp not running at full gains.. I'll have it mounted (if it fits) in the glovebox compartment BEHIND the passenger seat,.. or if need be under one of the seats.
Then I guess if I go with the MB quarts in the rear slots.. at a later time I can pick up a 75x2 amp for fairly cheap.
Just running the 100watts x2 and 300watts x 1 on my stock alternator and battery shouldn't pose any issues right? Just threw a new battery in it a few days ago (took out the 6 year old factory battery).
