Can you find a flaw with this approach?

I have a Fi Q 12" on its way and I just started brainstorming ideas about the box I'm going to build to put it in. I am going sealed so I'll need a box with .8-1.5 cuft.
Trunk space is very important to me so I was thinking of building a box that isn't much deeper than the mounting depth of the speaker itself. The Fi 12" mounting depth as listed on their website is 7". So for example, it I decide on a 1.0cuft box I would build a box 8" deep x 14.7 x 14.7 (I'm not considering speaker displacement here).

Is there any flaw with an approach like this? Thanks in advance.
Are these internal dimensions. Because if they are external, assuming you are using 3/4" MDF, your internal depth will only be 6.5", which isnt enough. But if you are giving internal dimensions, you should be fine.
