Can you find a flaw with this approach?

I have a Fi Q 12" on its way and I just started brainstorming ideas about the box I'm going to build to put it in. I am going sealed so I'll need a box with .8-1.5 cuft.

Trunk space is very important to me so I was thinking of building a box that isn't much deeper than the mounting depth of the speaker itself. The Fi 12" mounting depth as listed on their website is 7". So for example, it I decide on a 1.0cuft box I would build a box 8" deep x 14.7 x 14.7 (I'm not considering speaker displacement here).

Is there any flaw with an approach like this? Thanks in advance.

if the sub 'vents / cools ' out the rear of the magnet you need the same distance from the wall of the box as the width of the vent hole.

but im not sure if your sub does have a vent hole in the magnet.?

either way an inch or 1.5 should be fine.

And sealed. I'd show you the pics I did of my sealed enclosure, but I deleted them roughly 30 minutes ago haha.

Here's some from my original prototype design. It looks almost exactly like this, just 2 inches wider.

Box was done months ago, but I just primed it today and it gets painted and clear coated tomorrow)

Some subs require additional space behind the motor structure for cooling. You may need to search around to see if your sub requires this additional space... If not, I dont see anything wrong with it.
