Can we get a list of all you box builders, there are so many!

Never claimed to be a designer, just a builder. Sometimes you have to do what a client wants whether its right or wrong.
absolutly not... ur name is on that box weather u like it or not... he might love the ways it sounds "even if like shit" then he shows it off to someone he knows and that guy thinks it sounds like crap and asks who built it. then u got a bad name for urself

not a box builder or designer... but as a welder in the army people bring retarded deigns to me all day its my job to figure out what they actually want from something they drew usually starting with a clean slate the customer is almost never right where i work but i wont do it if its a safey concern or something that will look like shite

Thats sound good looking work. I do have to ask, howd the HT one sound? That looks like a terrible shape for HT as that probably just breeds standing waves, internal absorption or not. I could be wrong though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Honestly, that is one of my best and favorite builds! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I was completely and 100% shocked by that sub. It was for my dad since my mom didn't want a huge box hanging around the house. It is tucked behind the couch and has a flat response across the ENTIRE room. It is unbelievable. The only thing it doesn't do is hit huge SPL's down low, but with 6.5's it's expected. It's a shocker when people come over asking where the LFE is coming from and they see that. I'll do some tests on it next time I'm home and report back to you.

What types of enclosures typically create standing waves? cause it is long and narrow?

definately need a box built for the type r's

ok before i get rammed with flames what size box would be best for the subs

i narrowed it down to either

5.5 cubes @ 32hz

4.5 cubes @ 40hz

4.5 cubes @ 32 hz

5 cubes @ 48 hz

or 4 cubes @ 25 hz for the lowz

power will either be sundown 1kd or 1.5kd

or an a3000db

Long parallel walls typically create standing waves. Also, if the ratio of the sides isn't right, then that can also cause some standing waves. The problem is knowing when, because in a sub enclosure where the wavelengths are very long, it isn't as apparent as it is with midranges where it's more directional. When you get standing waves, you get pockets of varying air pressure in the room which is clearly evident with mids. With subs, you can't really tell if its SWs or just poor room modes that are causing the nulls and peaks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I'm getting pretty darned good at designing and building. I'll throw some links to pics of my work when I get a chance.

I can do enclosure for those in Northern Minnesota and North Dakota.

Or when home from school, I can help those in Maryland, NOVA, or SOPA.

For all those posting in here, I think that you should post additionally if you're particularly skilled with bandpass enclosures because more and more people are wanting them, and they are not in any way easy to design and build. The building...not so much, but you aren't allowed to just wing it like you can with most sealed or ported boxes; bandpass enclosures need to be designed and built to the letter. Personally, I haven't the faintest idea how to design a bandpass enclosure nor have I ever since I am a SQ guy and a BP isn't what you typically look for when going for something musical, but nonetheless, if you have extensive experience with BPs or any other type of special enclosure design or construction, I'd recommend saying so in here. It'd help a lot of people. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
