if you can get the dust cap off, you may be able to solder a new tensil on it. not to shure on thoes subs.

that's what I thought. It is being powered by a Planet Audio Vector D, at 2 ohms, probably seeing 750W. That amp is one ohm stable, 1200W. How did this happen? Shitty construction? I've been beating on it for about 1.5 yrs...

Would this be a suitable replacement?

imo thats a much better replacement.

tinsels usually break from over excursion or just plain old age and lots of use.

if you go the re se way, build or have someone build the right box for it.

This was a custom box. 2.0cf tuned to 30hz. Really played the lows on this sub. Not as much punch as my previous Type-R, but pretty close. How would the RE SE 10" do with this box? Or should I have another built...something smaller?

not to shure but 2.25-2.5 @35hz should be good. a little higher tuning can give some more "kick" and still get the lows good.
