I don't want something thats gonna be way over powering eitherwhy would I need a 1000W amp or an 800W amp if im only gonna be using 400W?

I guess I'm asking your opinion on brand and product for a 400W 2 or 4-Ohm Amp

I'm gonna keep the sub and speakers though

If you need to power a 4 ohm sub, I'd buy a PPI P600.2 or SS2.600D. Very small and efficient. These are basically same amp inside. Good for 600watts RMS at 4ohm in bridged mode.

If the goal was to run just 400 watts, I'd just use the same relatively high power 5-channel (like say an Alpine MRX or Polk D5000) or 4-channel amplifier (like PPI P900.4 or Alpine F65) that powers front speakers for the subwoofer duty as well.
