Can ported have the same SQ as sealed?

Really an almost 3cubic feet box..... I will be almost doubling the recomended range from JL website...wouldn't it gain more SPL instead of SQ by going that way?

I'm no expert and Im the guy whom always loved sealed and just heard an amaing SQ set upp with a ported enclosure, the 13W7 had about 3.3cubes ported...

So what ever you guys tell me I'm gonna stick to that...

As far as the right size port to use...that depends a lot on the sub itself. I tend to go way overboard on port size, but it doesnt hurt. It makes it so there's no chance of port noise.
