Can one beefy 15" get louder than two SA12's?

You could get BUCK to build you some spec boxes for those 12s, that would be outstanding in performing at theyre best,that will sound fantastic

or just trade me for the treo and use my box design...

Bigger subs mean nothing if you cannot build a good box for them,,you can build a solid bass performance sub box for smaller subs that will out perform any larger sub with a substandard box built..Bigger isnt always better

Define bass performance sub box, I don't know whether to classify my custom made box for the SA12's as substandard, sounds pretty great to me. I just want to experiment with different brands and different size woofers besides medium level 12"s that I usually go for.

You go as big as 2.4-2.6 cu ft ported for a single 10in woofer/1000 rms sub

try the psi platform 1 15' with that brz 1700 it will rock 750w rms and 3" voice coil

i have the same amp running on 2 vvx 15, it might be too much for 1 vvx 15

have not tried .5 ohm, i've read a lot of people wire it that way, manual actually said the amp is not stable for .5 ohm and will void warranty. its actually pretty loud now @ 1ohm.

it can happen. if you were doing 1 nsv2 15" vrs 2 sa12" i would give the advantage to the nsv2 do to motor force.

most depends on the enclosure and how you vent to the cabin

Ive seen single subs smoke pairs a few times. Only advantage I see is splitting the power between 2 subs is a little less stress compared to a direct load going straight to one. That's just my opinion though.

I've been on the hunt for some DD motors and baskets to have you build up for me. Those AQ's we discussed before wouldnt be able to handle the long term power I plan to throw at em.

originally my 15 was doin 47's before we hacked the box and redid the port i took 3rd at SBN and that was on a 5k @ 2 ohm so i was seein under 2500 watts. I was beat by 2 12's on 2 saz 3500's in a terry brocks SPL design he did a 51.1

I run my brz 1700 at .5 ohm daily. Just keep you volts up.

No way id run a brz at 1/2. prolly just getting lucky on rise.
