can i use these wires ?

what im saying is i want to use 4guage wire for everything..... speakers....subs....power....ground so in future if i get a real power system like 1000rms each sub and 150rms to each speaker i dont have to worry abt that a 16 guage cant take that much heat and then i have to uy new wires and re run them...... im looking for a wire that can handle like 1000watts rms becoz thats the highest ill ever go i heard a 200watts system and i was happy with it but this is my 1st whole new setup and im giving 300rms to each sub i have 2 and 100rms to each speaker x 4 but in future ill be upgrading 4 sure getting components n all buying the wires is not a problem for me but installation is.... reason i said 4 guage is becoz they are strong enough to handle more then 5000rms or maybe more i dont know but ill only be using 1000rms on them i dont have to worry abt over over heating them n all.... n i dotn know if i can use 4 guage wire for everything

dude you can not use 4 gauge wire as speaker wire. second 4 gauge will not be good for 5000 watts rms. 1000 watts top. why do you want to do your system all in one size wire? use 12 gauge for subs, 4 gauge for power and ground, and 14-16 gauge for speaker wire. do you plan to use 4 gauge as your remote turn-on lead? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

What are you wiring up ? The enterprise ?

as was said earlier brother man. 4 gauge for speaker wire is way overkill IF you really feel the need, get 12 guage speaker wire ( still overkill IMHO ) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I want to see pictures when you try to run 4 gauge to some components. Bet that will be fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You def dont need 4awg for speakers, subs etc like icetee said use 10 or 12 for your subs and 14 to 16 for speakers. Im running like 350 watts to my speakers through 10awg with no problems and about 1200 watts to my subs with 10awg with no problems as well, the only reason I went w/ 10awg was because I got it super cheep. The only thing I would do if you were going to run more than one amp in the future would be to run 0awg for power to a distribution block and 4awg from there.

Actually take some string and run it where your wire will be, THen measure it. Add on about 10'-15' just in case. It's always better to have too much, than not enough. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

hey i got a 2 gauge wire 2 rolls each like 25ft my freind gave me for free yea hez rich owns a LX470 anyway i htink 50ft will be enough for 4 speakers connected from HU and 2 subs with a 2 channel amp in a midsize suv ( infiniti qx4) before i start my installation just want to make sure i can use a 2 gauge wire for speakers , subs , amp ? i know its too power full even for subs but if i can use 2 gauge wire for everything y should i buy more wires ?

let me know guys if therez nay problem using 2 gauge wire 4 everything

thanks

good luck fitting 2 guage into any terminals on anything.............have fun running 2 guage everyway.............your going to need alot of distro blocks. because nothing other than maybe the amp will accept 2 guage.........did you not read anything anybody posted?
