Can I tune a already made ported box to a lower frequency?

I have an atrend 12lsv box it is 2.5 cu ft tuned to 43hz and i was wondering If i could modify the port from the inside to lower it to around 33hz?

Build a new box

An already built box-

Decrease port area or length port.

Do not decrease internal volume (minus adding port length) or it will raise tuning.

Note that if shrinking port area, shrinking it too low can cause chuffing with a loss of SPL if it happens.

Jeff, seems like 32hz is a popular tune is 35 much of a difference ? I've always wanted low low deep bass. I'm thinking more like 28 hz, how's something like that sound ? I listen to mainly hip hop.
