Don't repeat what you see on the internet it makes you look like an idiot. DD's are not hollow, they are flat. Huge difference. Many subs peak out in the lower freq where a DD will play them at about the same amplification as the higher freq, in the correct box. Hell I've owned a 9500 and had it playing well into the subsonic freq. Not to mention I am just betting I may have the most discriminating ear for distortion on this website. Do you honestly think a SQ guy would recommend a ****** sounding subwoofer?

DD/AQ subs are not bottom heavy, that is usually the "hollow" sound some claim to hear. They are not boomy on the low end and don't overemphasize that part like a lot of other subs do. They also don't roll off as fast on the top end. At least that has been my experience with the 50-60 sets up I've done with them.
