Best amp for my sub?

Hey guys, I'm in the process of putting a 10" JL Audio sub in my 2004 F150, and I need to know which amp to run. The sub handles 300 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms. I'm looking at the Alpine MRV-M500 but I don't know if thats overkill or not. Thanks!

Perfect Buddy! Have it and love that amp running it on one mtx terminator @ 4 ohm its only rated for 200 watts! Any JL will take that power and beg for more! Have fun.

Anddd look on Amazon I believe I bought mine for $130 free shipping do not go on Walmart Bestbuy No big name stores! And the amp is super small bout 12 in by 12 in super small if you dont have much room in your truck

The Alpine is a solid amp. I've had a couple and they worked well. My suggestion is you look at something that does around 300 @ 4 ohm and 1000 at 1 for when you choose to upgrade. Which is inevitable. Too much bass is never enough. Lol! Maybe something like this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_67933_Hifonics-BRX1100.1D.html The Hifi's are great budget amps. And while it's a tad overpowered set your gains with a DMM and you'll be good to go. Another option would be a decent 2 channel that does that much power bridged and when you upgrade the door speakers you'll already have an amp for them. The 2 channel is definitely the cheaper option.
