its a power acoustik a300db. i think its just a couple of those mosfets i can get from parts express and resolder them? yes? no?

You also need to check the gate resistors in the amp to see if they are still within tolerance. And also check the drivers for thoose fets to make sure you have no leaking/shorted drivers.

If you do not check thoose thing and you have something else shorted/leaking you will waste your money on parts only for it to blow up again

i would just replace all the fets and gate resistors, not expensive. also youll wanna get you some kapton tape and arctic silver ceramic thermal paste. there is more to it but its wortha try thatl cost you a few bucks. oh and some desoldering wick, dont mess with the pumps. be quick on the iron too cause youll trash other components.

He is right be quick with the soldering iron . If you apply heat to long to the board you will damage the board by lifting the pads for the fets/resistors.

I use a Hakko desoldering gun works like a charm everytime.

could you guys happen to tell me everything i would need? im not sure what the part numbers are and stuff. Can i get it all on parts express? This is gonna be my first amp repair.. :x

you will need to replace all the "fets" in the power supply. you cant just replace the ones that have exploded. the drive transistors will need to be replaced as well..

it could have some shorted outputs on the other side of the amp that caused the power supply to fail..

do you have a digital multimeter with a diode check on it ?

take one of the holdowns off the blown "fets" and tell me the part numbers . they should be (example:IRFZ44n's)or something close to that..
