Can anyone recommend an amp for this sub??

Not sure what you would conisder cheap, but from what I know the Elemental 9kv.2 does 400RMS

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=474

That's a pretty good amp, very high efficiency and puts out 400RMS at any impendance from 1-4ohms

I'm at class atm so can't do much more, I'll be home in ~an hour or 2 and will look a bit harder then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Hope this helps

thanks for the suggestions guys. keep em comin.
For $189 for the Xenon or $99 for the Cadence. I think you will be hard pressed to find better solutions. There are gillions more suggestions. You can pull up wooferetc and scan through everything in your price range. But for value, the Xenon and Cadence will be tuff to beat!

The Xenon will have more head room you could tweek the gains. But almost double the price as the Cadence.

Yeah, the Xenon is a solid amp. Never had any experience or known anyone to use that Cadence but they are a solid company as well. In the end, it depends on how much $$$ you have to throw down. If your budget is real tight, the Cadence will keep you happy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif If you have a little headroom to afford the PG Xenon, a bit of headroom is always nice in case you want to change anything.

Trying to stay between 200 and 300W RMS, according to eD, that is the best operating range for this sub. I dont want to put too much power on it.

Not looking for a system that will blow someone away, looking for the best sq.

Since the old punch waffle iron amps, I have not been a fan of RF. But I'm sure for sub application that one would be ok. Cadence has a factory direct warranty for 2 years. Not sure what the RF has.

Elemental has the nine.2 that will run you about $220 with full factory warranty. I have never personally owned the Elemental amps. But I have owned several subs and really like those.

keep in mind with the RF amps ur looking at that a mono amp is more efficient (may not be an issue with smaller amounts of power but still)

Also since i own a phoenix gold X400.1 figured i would kick in. I love the amp and it almost never gets hot, and gives great sound quality, i even ordered it from that site, ordered on a Monday had it by Friday and im in Canada so they were really nice to deal with. Plus it's an extremely versatile amp, being stable down to 1 ohm. Installed clean and had absolutly no issues with it. If your afraid of overpowering the sub just keep the gain down, its nice to have extra power if you need it then to not have as much as you want. (keeping in mind not to overload anything.)

a little headroom is never bad, say you decide to upgrade one day, then you might be able to keep the Xenon :p

a little gain adjustment goes a long way, just cause the amp puts out 400 watts doesn't mean you can't turn down the gain and get it working proper.

After alot of research and recommendations from you guys (thanks btw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbcool.gif.25d3f515a7f948dd6be51428263071ef.gif)

I think I am going to go with the Cadence amp. It is the best in terms of value, output, and quality I am looking for.

Can't justify spending much more for what I am going for.
