I have a Hifonics Goliath 15" sub, 1600 Watts RMS, 3200 Watts Peak. What amp should I get...any suggestions? There are a few im looking at but not too sure how they will work. Any help would be appreciated.

I had an Alpine MRD-M1005 before, and it didnt hit hard enough. That was rated for 1800 Watts, dont know how much of a difference this amp would make if it even would at all.

Or would this one be worth the extra money???

No, the SoundStream amp wouldn't offer anything over the Alpine you had since they are both rated for 1000w RMS.

With your sub, you should try to find an amp that can output 1600-2000w rms at either 1 or 4 ohms.

That Zeus amp would be a good choice. Here's another one that would work for you.

[edit] you should also post a thread in the Wanted to Buy section asking if anyone has a working, quality 1600-2000w rms @ 1 ohm amp for sale.

Now I am trying to decide between the Brutus and the Zeus, I am leaning towards the Brutus because of the reviews you showed me, do you think they would sound just about the same? Thanks for the info by the way

Yeah, they'd probably be very hard to distinguish since they will both supply your sub with roughly the same amount of power. Keep an eye open for sale threads, as some of these 2006d Brutus amps do appear every once in a while.
