I'm going to buy a Hifonics Goliath XX-3212 sub (3200 rms, 6400 peak). First does anyone have the sub and can tell me if it is a good idea to get that sub or should i look for another one? Also what kind of box would work the best with this sub?

I would assume that a ported box would work best for the sub. Especially if your looking for SPL.

No one on this board really has heard them, at least not back when I first asked about them when I first started here. Anyway, there is definately better for the money.

I have heard of them, but the only question I have for you is how much money are willing to spend to get the full potential out of it?

I remember seeing something about them when I worked for as installer for shop in michigan, the rep brought stuff in about them but we never order any. There's many cheaper alternatives, many other efficient subs unless your going for serious spl and have lots of moola?

I plan on doing another spl car but a hatchback this time. In the past I did suvs and midsize cars like regals, astro vans and such. The bottom line is money! Doing large cars requires alot more money to them right, if you just want to have fun and compete then any car will do. If your serious theres many ways to go.

hatchback = less money

suv = lots o' money! and lots o' work.

As for subs I plan doing something thats not very efficient, 18"Kicker solo X. What kind of car you got?

+ what are you working with already? like amp radio, battery?? money?? So many factors.

I got a 95 honda accord, everythings stock, i got a pioneer head uint that needs to be installed. Im going to upgrade the Big 3 wires 1/0. And get a new alty. A 200/85indle. thats the highest alternator for a 95 accord i can find. I want to run 2 orion 2500d's with my two XXX3212's

Sorry got busy, + I'm not getting email notifications of thread changes?? Anyway I have changed my mind as it has been a few years since I have competed I have decided to go with the exact woofers you guys originaly were curious about the goliath 3212. We are going to run 2 of them in a civic hatchback.

The setup will be:

2 - Goliath 3212's

4 - xx-colossus

1 - 180 amp alt

8 - yellow tops

Going for street beat 2.

The spl enclosure according to hifonics (A.K.A. http://www.maxxsonics.com) is 2.5 cubic ft. vent @ 10X10X13"

I have decided to scrap the 18" solo x idea for now and start smaller. The 18"s need 10 cubic ft. each and thats not possible with the hatchback we have so we are getting an astro van but that will be later. I will let you all know how it comes along and post pics, we are ordering all the equipment in two weeks from today.
