15" Orion H2 potential....

After searching, I came up with quite a few mixed reviews on the h2.

Anyone want to add anything?

Think I could make a single 15" louder than a pair of RE HC 12"s? It would be powered by an IA 20.1 at .5

Orion makes good amps. I dont see why they wouldnt make a good subwoofer.

Needs a shit load of power.....im sure you can get better subs that need less power and can get just as loud....

Yeah, definitely need a bigger box for the hcs. I need to call RE and see what they recommend.........

Also think one of them is either bottoming out, or having tinsel slap issues.......

Just picking up the Orion in a trade, it will probably end up in the wifes car or something.

actually i believe he's down to a single HC. i have a 5cuft box tuned to 32h i could throw in for free(you pay shipping only)

Nope, still have the pair of HC's........I just think one of them has tinsel slap/a bottoming out problem.

The H2 will work for me.....like I said, Ill try it and at least use it in my wifes car.

What you going power it with? Those things need their own generator....not really but they **** up power....

Currently considering replacing the pair of 12" HCs with a pair of 15" Orion H2s......powered by an IA 20.1 at .5

I dont think a single IA at .5 will be enough for two H2s....a single 15 H2 would love that power....

yeah that was my though, but even the IA at 1ohm isn't gonna give it all she wants. would be pretty close to max but not quite

Only problem with that is, I dont think the one 15" would be louder than my pair of HC's........and I cant add a second amp right now.

So I guess Im ****ed either way, and Ill just keep the HC's in, and not be able to wang them.

Apparently the H2's are very poorly designed, and like to blow with half of the recommended rms.

I'm running my h2 off 1200 clean watts and i'm sure it could take more but does great off of it...i don't see why everyones so down on them.
