Can anyone figure this out?

lol, that is pretty funny.

what kind of car is it dude? i can help you take it apart on here or by text. he prolly hooked amp turn on to the ebrake wire so it gets 12v with the car on and the brake off and none while depressed....hahaha its a very good idea.

one time i hooked a relay to the parking brake and reversed the polarity and hooked it to his horn switch of my bosses jeep so every time he hit the brake his horn would go off/ it was a stick so he didnt notice until he got down the parking lto a little bit. it was great

That is halarious.Probably not to him though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Most cars brake lead is a 12v switched source(not a ground) so most likely he used that as a turn on lead for the HU instead of the switched wire in the dash, was he trying to by-pass the safety if so that is exactly what you need to switch, pull the turn on lead for the radio and the safety lead (he most likely has them tied together and ran to the brake lead) you don't need the brake lead so leave the two wires together and hook them to a different switched 12v source in the car and your good no safety no problems.
