Can amps be bridged?

Can 2 JBL 1200.1 amps be bridged together to put out 2400 watts at 2ohms?

NO and each amp would only see 1 ohm

Please explain a little more of what you mean by bridging the two amps together. I think I understand, but I want to make sure.

Im talking about hooking 2 amps up to double the output to one source...i dunno what that would do to the ohms tho...the problem is the subs i want are 4ohm DVC and the JBL 1200.1 i wanna use only puts out 600 watts at 4ohms so i wanna wire 2 subs up to get 2 ohms and hook 2 of the JBL amps up to the subs to have 2400 watts total at 2ohms...ya get it? Im confusing myself AHH

he means daisy chaining the outputs...amps you can do this with are crossfire 1000 watt class d , memphis 1000d and ma audio's class d prolly a few others too but these i know can....the memphis requires a module..personally drew you are about what 90 minutes from ft wayne? if so i can take you to the mecca of car audio in our area lol

Yeah im in carmel...like 20 min north of indy. I need to know where this mecca is! Maybe sometime u can teach me a thing or two!

van wert ohio, custon audio concepts... learnd ALOT there back in the day..they arent the best place for splers although im sure if they wanted to they could. would be a haul for you but i think you'd like it you would see how they make cars look sweet. there are a few places in indy that do good stuff but nothing like they do or have done. there is a small chain of stereo shops in indy seems 2 out of three are in old gas stations they hired a good guy from west virginia named walt. they did a 90's mustang that won iasca finals back in 96 before walt worked there

U know what chain that was? I need to go somewhere to get an educated! Do u know of any installer schools around indy? I really wanna take some classes or something...i got the whole rest of the summer and i really wanna learn some car audio stuff.

I don't understand why people make these types of posts.. OK, you're inquiring about the double amp thing, fine. BUT! why do you need 2400 watts? If you're new to car audio, I doubt you have a w7, DD, etc.. What kind of subs do you have that need 1200 watts each?

Im just asking cause im curious! Chill out man....how else am i supposed to learn about this stuff with out asking questions? I was looking at Blueprint 1203s and was wondering how i could power them...not that im gonna do it. Sorry.

he is just learning concepts of what he can do is all. he prolly has a stronger electronics background than 90% of the people here judging what his hobby is.

reason i know about those shops cause i knew they guy with the stang from iasca shows stan the man or dan the man was his nickname. i knew the shop cause i used rep car audio in indiana 98-99 but over the years i forgot alot of the names course doesnt help that 90% have names with stereo and sounds in them lol. the main shop is on the northside of indy not to far off the i 69 exit maybe 5 miles or so if i remember right
