can a single 8" sub perform

right now i have a single 12" memphis DSV sub and i want to change my set up to a single DD 1508. will the 8" perform and hit as hard as the 12". also where can i get a DD 1508 online? or do i have to find a dealer? and any one who has one what amp are you running.

i dont think it'll sound as good on the low freqs as the 12, but alot depends on the box aswell, i'd say more bass with the 12 and tighter more responsive bass with the 8"

A lot will depend on the box. The 8 is at a natural disadvantage because of the lack of cone area.

8's get low. i liked my 2 8's better than my single 12 type R. it did however take 3 tries to get the box right.

It depends on alot of factors, but my 1508's performed very well when i only had 2 in my car.
