i have a Hifonics 1606D and if i get these 2 12" D2 subs i can either run them at 2ohm or .5ohm i dont have a problem running them at 2ohm giving them 550rms each but if i can run the amp at .5 ohm at it will hold up the subs would be getting about 800rms each so just want to know if anyone has run a Hifonics at .5ohm or if it will **** the amp up if i do

i have heard it can, real question is..How long?
it isnt going to be for driving hours everyday like 5mins to school and back mon-thurs an extra 40min drive on wed for counceling and sat maybe an hours drive so about 2 hr 30 min of it going every week

I had 3 BX1605Ds and they got hot as hell @ 1 ohm. You honestly couldnt even touch them without it being painful.
you've never had a successful install if you havent noticed.

even as one of your buddies has said before, "its the man behind the volume controls", not the equipment in regard to your btl install.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

they'll run at 1 ohm no problem, but do not go any lower.

no. Those amps are to crapy. If you got money do your self a favor and get the xxv line
yes the XXV are very very impressive i had the XXV thor and it was super powerful i sold it to trez0r. he will be suprised with the power that fker puts out.

my buddy chewie has a brutus the 1200wrms one and it is ok but does get pretty hot @ 1 ohm

All my installs were just fine, only problem was I wasnt running my equipment like I should.

The Hifonics amps for instance got hot. Never shut off or went into protect, just got very hot.

The BTL setup... The Sundowns @ .35 didnt get anywhere near as hot at the Brutus' @ 1 ohm.

In my Mustang I had a JL 1000/1. Got pretty warm after really beating on it, but never any real problems.

Equipment works differently in different scenarios.

well imna be getting 3 12" 187s in a couple of days and there D2 so it would be running at 1.34ohm what should i see out of the amp i know i wont get the 1600rms at 1ohm but will i atleast get 1400?

If you have a D2 sub do you have to run the sub at .5 ohms? or at 2? Can an MTX TA 7801 run daily at .5 ohms..? Thanks!
if you just have one D@ sub then you can run it at 1ohm, or 4ohm if its 2 D2 subs then its either 8ohm, 2ohm, or .5ohm
