Can a 2ch 4ohm amp feed a single dual 4ohm VC sub?

... with one ch feeding each of the two VCs.

I would set the amp to "mono" ... or use an RCA Y-adapter to combine my L & R RCA's into one signal. Or maybe both just to be sure?

My amp is a 160W x 2 max. I assume if this would work, that would be equal to feeding the sub 320 watts?

Will this work?

opps read that wrong. yes it can work, but it would more then likley be the same as running the sub in paralle at 2ohms and using 1 ch of the amp(not bridged). whats the modle number of the amp

It's an ooooold ~1986 Kenwood KAC-745 4-channel. It can operate as a 2-ch bridged at 4 ohms 160W max each.

I'm just not clear: Is there interaction between the two voice coils on a dual voice coil sub? I've read that it's really bad to connect your wires to just one of the voice coils in a DVC sub, & I'm not trying to do that, just wondering if feeding the exact same signal into a DVC sub with a 2-channel amp will work fine ... or burn up, or ___?
