Yo, im new to car audio. i bought a dual 4 ohm JBL GTO subwoofer. its rated at 300 RMS, but i wanna push 400 to it, for better sound when the volume is up. My question is can i use a 2 channel, bridge it to run the two voice coils, or go with the traditional 2 ohm Stable Mono amp. All i wanna kno is if the 2 channel idea can work or will it be useless? If so, plz, to the ones who reply, recommend some amps to use. THANX!

The only way it could work is if the 2 channel amp was 1 ohm stable in stereo which is very rare. Just get a 2 ohm stable mono amp. HiFonics Brutus, Orion, Alpine, USAmps, PPI, just some brands off the top of my head. Just depends on your budget.

Cool thanx. Question bout hooking 1 coil to a channel. Can i use a 4 channel or is it better to use the 2 channel?

Also if so i might go with that setup. However the monoblock sounds more effective since the power output would be better with the single channel. I would get a Directed amp. the small 300 watt one. is that ok?
