I think that it could depending on the exact box size etc. I would go on the safe side and not push it to hard unless you are doing spl comps. A 1000 watts rms on that sub will pound and I really do not think that you would hear that big of a difference in the extra 500 watts. You could always go with 2 12's.
Do you already have the bx1500d? if not you should go with the bx1000d and run at 1 Ohm with the 2 Ohm dvc sub.
and Im not sure if the hifonics amps run well at 2 Ohms...
I already have the 1500d. Either I run the L7-4 in 2 ohms giving it 1000 or L7-2 w/ 1500watts. Hifonics not doing well in 2 ohms,, hmmm. And L7 blowing up with that much power. Tough dilemma.
Then again, just keep the gains down and set the subsonic filter on the amp should be good enough for the L7, right?
