Can a 12w3v3 take 600 RMS on 1cf sealed?

Hi there, I have a alpine mono amp 400rms @ 4ohms or 600rms @ 2 ohms, I also have a 1cf sealed box in the center console in between my front seats of my quad cab truck.

Should I get the 2 ohm 12w3v3 or would the 4 ohm be much safer?

I want SQL and the sub to get low...

THX in advance

as long as you don't clip the amp you should be fine with 600 watts. just because your amp puts out 600 watts, doesn't mean you have to give your sub 600 watts. add impedence rise and general music playing and that sub is not getting 600 watts rms. i say go for the 2 ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Definately go with the 2 ohm, it is always nice to have the headroom. Plus you are better of with 600 clean watts than to give a sub 400 watts with the amp clipping. As long as the sub is not getting hurt mechanically then you will be fine.

I had a 12W3 running around 500 or so watts and it has taken it for years. My sister is currently using it in her car now and its just fine. Like mentioned, be smart with the gains and you will be fine.

Mine was an original 12W3.

I think you should do better with two W3s 4 ohm;) or one W6:up2somet: .

I'm against pushing equipment to the limit, I still don't get it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wallbash.gif.1310150c49dd52e0fbe1813a0681e5c3.gif

I've been using an original W3 for 5+ yrs with anywhere from 600-1000w RMS. Never any problems. I don't push hard generally, but I'm sure I've reached the limits of the 600w amp plenty of times.

The other option I was looking for was an eclipse 12" aluminum the new version 7200 series, takes around 500rms, what do you guys think?
