can 6 1/2 fit in 6x8/5x7

Can I fit 6 1/2 fit in a 5x7 location in my ford explorer? I went to a shop and they said that they would have to cut the doors to make it fit. (which i didnt belive)

simple fit...i had 6.5 DD's in the doors of my 99 ecplorer

you just use the factory speaker trace out a template on 1/4 mdf....then add the 6.5 template over the factory traced one...cut out thr 6.5 hole first....then cut the 6x8 out...you will have to remove the plastic trim ring in the explorer door and attach your mdf trim plate....

Gonna need a lil thicker material then 1/4". On mine i jus made a 6.5" X 8.5" baffle cut a hole where needed an filled in the small gaps with non hardening molding clay.

1/ baffle plate and 3/4 mdf rinf thats what i did

make a baffle.. no need to cut the door's what so ever..
