i've been deployed and ive forgotten sum things on installation.. i was wonderin if anyone knew how to wire 4, dual 4 ohm speakers to make them into 1 ohm???? and to make sure.. a way to wire 4 dual 2ohm speakers into a 1ohm would be to run them all parallel at first then do parrallel all the speakers right????... so u guyskno am tryin to wire 4 MA 120XE's into a soundstream PCA 2000D... OR a PPI PCX 2400.. any suggestions greatly appreciated.. thnk u //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i was lookin at wirin diagrams... well i have a question... i thought that when u do series on a dual voice coil u kinds do it like u take a pos 1 to the amp and neg 2 to the amp and u wire pos 1 to neg1 and neg 1 to pos 2 and pos 2 to to neg 2 . but see the website juss shows to wire one of the coils and not to each other... anyone plz //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

no i think you can do 1 Ohm.

Wire each sub to 1 ohm. Then you have four. So you have 4, 1 ohm loads. If you series it into two sets, then you get 2, 2ohm loads. Run those in parallel and you get 1 ohm.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh, and you guys are totally wrong about it anyway. Two and .5 are not the only options. You could totally do 16ohms. [/sarcasm]

FAIL Single sub options are 2 and 8, not 1.

To wire the dual 2s the way you want, wire the neg of coil 1 to the pos of coil 2 on each sub. From there connect the pos of coil 1 and the neg of coil 2 of all subs to the amp. There's another way to do it but that is the best option.

4subw 4ohmx2

((1sub) serie=8ohm) paralel ((1sub) paralel=2)) paralel (((1sub) paralel=2) serie ((1sub) paralel=2)=4)=0,875ohm

or

((1sub) paralel=2ohm) paralel ((1sub) paralel=2)) paralel (((1sub) paralel=2) serie ((1sub) paralel=2)=4)=1,25ohm

4sub's 2ohmx2

((((1sub) paralel=1ohm)) serie ((1sub) paralel=1))=2 paralel (((1sub) paralel=1ohm)) serie ((1sub) paralel=1))=2)=1ohm

or

((((1sub) serie=4ohm)) paralel ((1sub) serie=4))=2 paralel (((1sub) serie=4ohm)) paralel ((1sub) serie=4))=2)=1ohm

^^^If every sub isn't wired the same way, the power distribution between the subs will not be even and you will eff up one (or all) of them and it will sound bad in the process.

DVC4x4 your options are 32 (all coils and all subs in series), 2 (coils in series subs in parallel) and 0.5(everything in parallel).

DVC2x4 options are 16, 1, 0.25.

There are plenty of other combinations that you can come up with other than those but those are the only ones that will give you even power distribution.
