First off, I am a total newb at car audio so please forgive me...
My situation: I have a 98 camaro with t tops and the factory audio system is just not up to par. I'm looking to eliminate my back seat and replace it with a speaker set up that better suits my needs. I listen to hard rock music so I don't really need a lot of base but I do want loud, quality sound.
I need to know everything from what head unit, speakers, amp, subs to buy to design ideas for the box itself. I have a Sirius radio boom box and is like to be able to use the docking station in my car but I don't want antenna wires around...
Budget is 1k-1500 and I can do most work myself as I'm an electrician but certainly not a carpenter.. It's also not my daily driver and I do not care about ever putting the rear seats back in.
My questions....
1) I am not sure I want to use the factory speaker locations at all. Is it possible to get the full range of sound out of my rear seat set up?
2) head unit suggestions? I have a factory 1.5 din radio now.
3) speakers and subs?
