Calling B.S. on all these HO alternators

That is a better test setup, but still not complete since there is no way (at least visible in the video) to induce a real world thermal environment. Im also pretty sure you have no idea what i'm talking about since you posted the link in some way to prove something that we've already discussed in some length in this thread.
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:DHIs alts are the best...thats why i run em //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D:D

It would be nice to see the case temp of the alt during the test, but just the fact that it did put out those numbers period is pretty good. I'd say that this guy (DCPower, Rob) does know what he is doing and is not trying to deceive anyone in anyway. I am unclear in the video because the camera moved around and blurred out a few times, was their an idle test done? Just curious, maybe I just had too much coffee this morning and missed it (Mondays...).

You are right Chris, the numbers do look promising which is why im such a stickler for covering all the test points. Most people do not know I come from an engineering test QA background dealing with large coil winding assemblies (typically 10 TeV) which makes me by nature want to know all the testing points just out of sheer need to validate the testing procedure.

Rob, you might need a dedicated camera man to do a more "tutorial" type vid. Get in the vid & explain what you're doing while testing the alternator and what all the fancy gizmos and #s mean.

I suspect he's working up to that next time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Or you and me snoop... and maybe shizzzon too. He can join us. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'll be camera guy. Least experienced person between us 3 is me.

I should be ordering one this friday.

The more you do to show your customers (including the "Uber-Smart" ones like snoopdan) that your products are exactly what they say they are, the better off you are as a company and will also help to keep you from having to answer the same questions over and over again. A good video, with better than good test procedure and documentation, along with a panel of experts will be the best thing you can do. Leave's no questions unanswered and makes an easy reference when someone has doubts, just link them to the video.

if anyone is doubting his alts.. i don't see why you just don't buy one and prove him wrong.. seems like thats what he wants you to do anyways... let the product speak for itself Rob... no use trying to convince people... everyone wants proof... its like saying you did a 150+.. nobody will believe it until you are in the vid next to the meter
I think you are missing the point of the thread. No one is arguing with him or taking shots. We are all just asking question about what his alt is. Its like shopping around. If you wanted a New TV would you buy it at the first store you go to. NO, You owuld shop around check out different brands, Check reviews. And so on.

But back on topic. Hats off to you Rob at DC you are the only ALT company that is in this thread talking about his products. Somthin Along the lines of good customer service. Im liking the videos.

awww shucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cuddle.gif.bd1b29c179c0482f8313dbd790b74c94.gif

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Agreed though, im impressed that a company is taking this stance on the matter. Im quite willing to spend my time to do independant testing in-vehicle. Only thing I don't have is a real thermocouple (like something from Omega). Perhaps we could do rough temp testing for lack of a better option. I'll think about that one.

What alt are you using to make the chick's hair do what it's doing in your ava?

just got off the phone with rob too place my 2nd order since Thursday because his product has amazing quality, and he doesn't make you feel dumb when u ask dumb questions .
Dual Alts koopa?? You'll shoot your eye out kid. I placed a call maybe 15 minutes or so before you did. If the alt does the business, I won't mind eating ramen and being a conference room scavenger for the next couple of weeks.

Phi, I will send you a PM... The 230 your getting is the baby brother to the 270 (as I mentioned to you)... The 230's will all run closer to 250, and a shade under the 270 at idle.. Feel free to have Snoopdan test away.. I'm doing an install on an Accord this week, I guess I'm going to have to do a video of that one too.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hopefully its the same chassis as mine. I'm quite interested
