Cadences new amps any good?

BTW, I have stated my personal preference, which is that I really prefer my sub amp to be class D, be it part of mono block or 5-channel. A lot more expensive amplifier brands than Cadence have amps with sub section that's Class A/B, and I am sure those are making good amplifiers. I am just stating my preference. I just don't want to deal with additional install considerations for cooling, fans, etc when I don't need to. Besides, the 5-channels are usually bought by people looking for an extremely simple solution.

The fact that its the same topology made by the same company.
Topology doesn't really mean much if you're stuffing more power into the same size amp case. Increasing the power, thus heat, while not increasing the surface area of the heatsink will cause an amp to run hot. The heat sink is often the most expensive part of the amp and, unfortunately, is usually the target of cost-cutting and engineering down to a price point. It's a lot easier & cheaper to use current limiting than it is to buy, machine, and ship a heavier heat sink. The more clever brands will sell that as a 'feature' while others will simply keep their mouths shut about it.

Outstanding price if the specs of the 5-channel model are true. However, personally I would bump my budget to $300 and buy a Kicker ZX700.5 or Alpine MRX-V60 or something else with a Class D subwoofer section. I have almost no doubt that without forced cooling, this pure class A/B Cadence amp will run hot and shut down under the right conditions on a hot summer day.
Dont knock products you haven't used.

These are not new amps, but they are proven performers, that are sold globally and have been used by competitors around the world.

Yet to see any returns from "over-heating"

Either way look out for our new amps coming out, and take advantage of the prices on our old stuff!

When you slap an 1800w sticker on an amp like that you're asking to get 'knocked'. What was that you said about all your amps making rated power & then some? I'd like to see how one would prove that performance in order to call it a 'proven performer'.

Where was it that you posted all of your Cadence amp clamp results? Oh wait... you didn't. Have you ever actually usd any of their products? I have. And they're solid.

The "slapping an 1800w sticker" is an unfortunate must in mainstream sales. When kids that aren't in the know are looking at amps, they shop from the "right side of the menu," so to speak. IDGAF what it says on the sticker, if it does the power I want at the price I need, I'll run it. And Cadence delivers there. I've had plenty of amps that were marketed with "max power" ratings that didn't do that on a daily basis but were still solid amps. My PowerBass ASA 1k comes to mind. It says "2000w" right on the case. Did it do 2k? No. Was it a solid amp for the price to performance ratio? Yes.

I f'n hate when people knock a product based on theory and conjecture.

Yes, most of these are older models, at least 2 or 3 years... My boy has one on the list that OP put up, and he runs it all day @ 1 ohm in Phoenix, AZ --> Super hot days! And it runs like a champ. Of course if you run near clipping, its gonna get very hot, regardless. I have used 2 Cadence amps myself and really like them. So maybe I got lucky or you got a dud, but I would run another amp from Cadence.
