Been There...Bumped That!
Not sure if this is the right place. I just received a Cadence ZRS10 for my RE SX 15". The sub is Dual 2 ohm and I will be running it @ 1 ohm. The sub is in a 4 cube ported, tuned to 31 hz. Will the SX hold up to 2500 watts in this enclosure? Any help..especially those of you w/ RE's would be greatly appreciated. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

The subs rated for 1k I believe and you are asking can it take 2.5 times the power, try it and see
You are correct, sir. I noticed ratings were 1000 wrms/2000 peak. I am hoping someone who has tried this can jump in and let me know how it worked. Should I shrink the enclosure when running more power, etc.?

sounds like you got my old amp! I sold it to connersdad19 and I'm glad to see it getting some use. Depending on your electrical, you'll realistically see about 2300 or so. IMO that would be a bit much for an SX. You could try it, but make sure you're VERY careful with your gains. Then again, if you have a crap electrical, I wouldn't even try it.....

That would be the one...I traded + $$$ to connersdad19 for my 1500D Directed. I have set my gains w/ a 50 hz tone and a DMM. I had them at 1500, 2000, and 2500 (which is 50 volts @ 1 ohm) and the sub got noticeably louder each time w/ no signs of fatigue. Ran it hard for 30 min. ( w/ car running) and not even a smell from the coils or the amp. Amp is still cool to the touch. I was thinking of switching it to a 3 cube box, instead of 4. Same tuning though (34hz) to see what would happen. Bad idea or good??? BTW...Excellent amp:cool:
