look at the critical mass 5000watt moofer. that thing is light as fawk and pounds.

Cadence makes great stuff for the money, I wouldn't hesitate to try that sub. hell I may do it sometime, I bought a few of their bottom shelf tens and I am thoroughly impressed, I would say they outperform type r's in some ways. Great company still

Let's not even bother to compare this to DD products. Totally different grade of metal for the motor. Audioque may use an overseas motor, but their softparts and craftsmanship are still top notch. This Candence sub is the Chinese's way of duplication with minimum cost. Then again, you get an inexpensively priced subwoofer. I would question the durability and motor strength. I can even tell they use cheap aluminum lead wires rather than actual copper. So, I highly doubt they will be anywhere near comparable to Audioque, let alone DD.

I wonder what kind of warranty Cadence have with their subs. I had a couple of their amps back in the days and they were pretty good. I'll get my hands on this sub to test out really soon and see what it's made of.

The amps are still top notch in my book, 5 year warranty on the ia line ftw. My cadence zxw's have a 1 year not installed by an authorized dealer or 2 year installed by an authorized dealer. Of course open and burnt coils are excluded.

according to a very reliable source that uses and sells DD subs ect and has a personal friendship with 1 of the owners... he wouldnt use aq if he had too as far as subs. he said they are cheap clones of great dd line subs at a cuthroat price using subpar material so why bother with it.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that, but DD is above AQ. AQ is set up to cater the the internet crowd. The guys that are used to paying dealer cost or even less for products. Think about it, you can get an AQ HDC3-15, L7 15, Memphis mojo, fi btl, rockford t2, RD (what ever steve is whoring out this week) or hell any other sub on that level for around the same price. BUT, in the long run performance and longevity is what we are all looking for!

Hell I bought the FIRST alpha V2.10 to ever be built!!! That was at Scrapin' the Coast '08 in Biloxi. Steve and the RD gang even stayed w/ my in rooms I had reserved!...they had a display and the FIRST RD alpha v2.10 was one of the subs on the table. I ended up buying that sub from Steve at the hotel room the last night of the show in hopes of using is as a USACi Super Port sub. Took it back to Monroe in my trunk to try it out, built a box for the hell of it and a DD2510 out performed it in the RD Alpha recommended box!

The all mighty Alpha had HORRIBLE coil rub right out the box. Steve blamed it on "eddy currents" and "the coil manu. built them wrong. An unknown # of calls and over a year later, nothing. He has claimed to have shipped the preplacement parts SEVERAL times but apparently UPS and FedEX have a conspiracy against RD.

Sometimes you just have to sit and wonder: Why is it that DD comes out with something, then everybody else tries to duplicate it. DD was the first with that basket...which must definitely mean that they were the ones to work with a newer design type since the last US basket manufacturer went out of business. Next thing you know, everybody else has the duplicates of these baskets.

The Chinese are quick in duplicating stuff. Heck, you can go to any Chinese manufacturer and they will build you their own client's design with your logo stamped on it. There are no such thing as patents or loyalty. However, there are many things that they do not have the technologies or materials to build.
