Cable Size help !

the total fuse rating on my amps are 150 Amps

what size of cable should i use ?

my amps are :

JBL 1200.1

RF 300s

i am using the jbl @ 4ohms for now but will run it down to 2 ohms in a few months

what do you all think ?

You might get away with 4 gauge.. but my calculator shows that to 125 amps (if I recall correctly).. 2 gauge is your best bet, just to be safe..

well if ur using the rf300 and the jbl and wanna do it an easier way u could get 1 gauge and get a dist block and then bridge it of too 4 gauge to jbl then 8 gauge to the rf

0 guage to a distro block....dont mess with 2 gauge, the cost difference is neglagable.....4 gauge running a 1200 watt amp is rediculous and not a good idea.

well adire audio recommends 4 gauge wire for the revolution d1500.1 and it puts out 1600 watts rms at 1ohm

4 AWG is not recommended as in they suggest using nothing but 4 AWG, but the amplifier only has 4 AWG inputs. If you ask Dan Wiggins what he would personally recommend, I'm sure he'd say something along the lines of 0/1 AWG from the battery to the trunk and into a distro block, and then 4 AWG to the amp (keeping the wire as short as possible.)

hey thanks....but my distribution block is under my passenger seat...which needs about 8 feet of cable

so do you think i will be ok with 4 gauge to dist block ?
