agreed but to the average consumer (all my friends at school) it should be interesting to see which they feel sounds better and does a better job reproducing music especially because there is such a price difference in these two sets.

Price differential really doesn't matter all that much. I'm not debating whether $90 worth of drivers can beat a $500 set...of course that's possible. whats the recommended RMS on the RSD's?

They are rated for 120 watts RMS, but there are a lot of folks running them at 150 watts RMS. I have mine at 125 watts RMS and they are pounding my chest!

yea me too im lookin for a comp set up front, what would be a major differences in mounting them in the doors rather than makin a kick pod cause my car is small and its a manual so not alot of room down there =[

I agree almost entirely. If you properly install a set of comps. they should sound good no matter the cost. If you halfass install them they wont sound good no matter the cost. A decent set of comps. with a great install can absolutely outperform a much higher priced set not installed properly. But if you do the latter, you are kidding yourself.

install of the rainbows was done by azbass....doors are completely deadened, solid MDF baffles, and as for the latter is wont be a straight drop in.

If you drop the rsd's in your doors or wherever, that would be a good comparison probrably. (to your existing comps.) I think the thing is if someone buys a set of speakers for $500+, they are not looking for "good" they want "great". I could have spent a lot less on stuff but I would not have gotten the results I did.
