C2k Zapco vs Arc Audio

I've played with more References and c2k's that you could dream of, great amplifiers...
Can you tell the difference between a a $250 XXK2050 and a C2k2.0x ($600)- I sure didn't....

are you guys saying they sound the same or are the zapcos equal?

and does arc make an 2000 watt amp?

do they make a 4 ch that is capable of handling 8 volts

I'm saying you cant hear a difference, even the Zap's running balanced vs the Arc unbalanced I couldn't....been there,done it

Dont believe the Symbilink hype, its a novelty- a nice one at that....but unnescessary IMO

If you can hear it......I'll be coming over with a straight jacket

I didn't say they were equal, but 100 watts of zapco power is no different than any other 100watts of Arc power...or any clean 1000watts period...

C2k's are expensive because of their lower impedance capability, and are built very finely. Balanced inputs and flexible xovers.

But, who in their right mind needs a fronstage amp to be 1ohm stereo capable?

And lose the clean performance and damping that you pay for to begin with?

Lots of people would have to pay Zapco to mod their C2k stereo amps to make more power at 4ohm......I didn't, and at 2ohm stereo where i ran my C2k2.0x, powerwise 2chs of my 4150 owned it severely...thats why I sold it.

Yes their amps can handle high voltage, BUT they also can make rated power with as little as 2.5v....so they dont need it to make rated power. I run an Eclipse 8v to arc amps for years, Arc preamps/eq's and processors run at 8v-9v rms...why wouldn't they be able to?

I like arc and zapco as much as the next guy but this as been gone over a MILLION TIMES.....

I would take 2 Arc xxk2500's over a 9.0 to achieve that power....Class a/b is my preference- I dont like class T's, nor do i feel one should cost as much as the 9.0...you can get a class D/T equally as powerful out there for a fraction of the price, they are all the same IMO

I have a buddy running a 9.0 to a W713, hes from ECA- he loves it, loves his controller....cant argue with that...

There's a reason why Nikola is not doing a class T in the next Arc amplifiers, they simply just dont sound as good. And sounding good is the business....

yeah prodigy system is nice...the only thing that impress me about his zapco amp was the controller that he bought with it ...u can controll how many watts go to a sub, u can check the volts going to the amp...u have a eq and xover in it..its a pretty useful tool if u have an additional 400bucks to spend and it doesnt come with the amp either..but like 3.5 said..4 the money there asking for the 9.0..u can get amp thats equally clean for less money

no eq in it, unless you mean bass boost... but yeah its a neat unit

Yes it will handle it just fine. See my avatar to the left? That was run from a stock charging system in an '03 AV6.

Between the two Arc/Zapco its really personal preferance and how deep your pockets are. They are both very exceptional products.
