C&D Technologies Batteries

I've found a retailer of C&D Technologies, but there a good ways away, about 20 hours driving time.

I've seen them around on various forums and such, are they any good?

I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what the pricing is on some of the batteries, and if I can get them shipped.

I'm trying to find some more affordable options than $250-$360 Optimas or marked up Kinetiks.

they are great batts, but not worth driving 20 hours for IMO. see if some of the internet dealers for them will ship to canada

Well I just called the C&D battery place..

She asked me what I was using them for , I said a car stereo, she said it won't work and there huge batteries.. there not meant for stereo use..

well.. ?

I'm not sure which battery to get either...

Edit: Well I'd like to get the one comperable to the Kinetik HC3800.. which here locally is $980. I think its the 'C&D Technologies Dynasty High Rate Series UPS12-475FR'??

Well. They probably deal with the real batteries. Ones the size of a small car, all the way up to the size of a house. Or the individual cells.

Ask for the high rate max batteries. (UPS series.)

I did.. and she asked me what I was using them for.. I didn't know what to tell her, so I told I was using them for car audio.

Well, look at it this way. Call from another number or ask someone else to call for you. Or hope they don't have the same person answering.

Well, you can probably just say it's for an in house inverter bank.

They don't make them actively anymore. They are discontinued. UPS 12-490MRLP is the replacement, but ask for the UPS 12-490MR.

Thats the one thats an equivalent to the Kinetik HC3800, right?

Yes. A bit larger. Seems they made the new ones a tiny bit physically larger compared to the UPS12-475FR...
