Bypassing Amp and Wiring Directly To Speakers

I recently bought a 2006 Toyota Tundra Double Cab with "premium" JBL sound system. Unfortunately there is nothing premium about the sound system and I am replacing the speakers with Rockford-Fosgate 6.5" Full Range 3-way speakers. I can't find the amp and it's going to be a pain to find it an bypass or replace it, so I am wiring the new speakers directly to the head unit, which is a Kenwood DPX500BT. No subwoofer. I'm disconnecting the factory tweeters and midrange speakers because the new speakers have that range built in.

My question is this, if I wire all new speakers directly to the head unit, can I simply cut the wire going to the amp? I feel like I'll need to disconnect the amp from the head unit somehow. Or is it okay to leave the head unit wired to the amp, if the amp is not connected to any speakers?

I've looked for the amp everywhere and the only place I haven't looked is behind the back seats, inside the panel. I really don't want to have to remove the panel.

Just don't wire it into the head unit... pretty simple. But I would find the amp, and run 9 wire from the amp out to the head unit.. that way you don't need run wires in each door.
