So I ben haveing problems with my set up, blowin fuses as of late, so I installed a stinger 100 inline and hoped for the best, , Equipment Alpine PDX 1000.1 runin 3 CVR 12's Amp was benched at nearly 1200, so plenty of power there for these subs, amp is 1000 rms @ 2 or 4 ohms so I was golden , things beat the shit outa my truck but not for long, poped fuses 3 times and i mean all 4 at the amp the stinger has yet to trip, yes we metered the volts/amps ect no drain on hvy load from my rig, tested each sub seperatley for the dead short effect from exscurz, all checked out, so there theory is that the PDX 100.1 is by all rights a bad *** amp plenty of power ect but just doesnt like the seriesed wireing, just isnt stable as it sez it is, seems this line of amps ismore for the guy with a bad *** lux car and a killer system not beatin the shit outa him, so I'm on my way to get the rockford 1500.1 they say that will be better and has lotsa room to upgrade the subs and goto a 1 ohm load , also just upgraded from the 9885 to the 9887 today, well worth the extra 60.00 lol ohh and for my troubles i get the rockford at 630.00 not bad I think lol.

x10 on port kicker subs. imo - all their subs should be ported no matter what. i just dont like them sealed.

yeah x11 on porting them.. they will get WAYYY louder and more than 400 is bad for a 1500.1

He was saying that was too expensive. Throwing your PDX in on top of that price is absolutely ludicrous.

Ok too clear up the confusion this is how it all went down

Bought the orig amp---PDX 1000.1 900.00 retail I paid 570.00 at cost, ok smokin deal.

PDX could not handle the series that the 3 cvr 12's @ 2 ohm like it said it would, just didnt have the balls to push em and kept blowin the fuses, just wasnt stable...

Took back the PDX, they gave me full price back--570.00 cuz they recomended the wrong amp for the sub set up

They hooked me up with-- T1500-1bd -- for 630.00 again smokin deal at cost, so basicly I got a wayy better amp benched at 1700+ more power more balls for only 60.00 more bucks so i figure ya i got a good deal, gains set at just cracked a hair over zero, the cvr will not take that kinda power, any sugestions on new subs? @ 1 ohm thnx in advnce guys.

lol take it back, buy one on the bay brand new with warranty, then youll have like 200 extra bucks to play with if i remember the prices correctly. sell the CVRs, and what you get, plus the 200 will be able to pay for some nice 12s from RE or somethin.

So you want him to go without tunes, hassle with egay and the mail instead of the top notch shop that that got him back going with very little problems.
