I bought it used off a member here pretty recently, and it worked perfectly until today. Randomly my subs cut out, and I was thinkin they must have blown or something which would **** like hell...but then noticed my amp was in protect. I felt it, and it was not even warm, room temperature. So I took out the remote wire, went and took a DMM to my subs to ensure they were reading proper resistances, plugged back in the remote wire and let it play again. It worked fine for about 5-10mins and then went into protect again, still no heat on the amp or subs. Now it keeps going into protect within anywhere from ~5-30min (probably a total of 4 times).
Its stable down to 1 ohm and I'm running it at 2.67 (4 ohm + 8 ohm in parallel). Only things I can think of that might be causing any kind of problem are:
1. Mixed impedences (though I don't see how that matters)
2. Amp vibrates when subs are hitting hard, but not enough to be visually detected or anything crazy like that.
3. I'm on stock electrical (big 3) running ~1200 rms, but I have a voltage display in my cig lighter which hasn't been dropping below 12.5v and usually maintains above 13 (even with system at full tilt)
Really could use some help cuz I'm worried about my amp/subs...
