Hey guys,
I am new to the site and joined because I am having a problem with my stereo system in my car. It is a Wrangler if that means anything. I have had the system installed now for about a year and a half and the problem just arose about a month or two ago. Almost to the point where I can stand driving the car because of the noise.
I am running an Alpine Cda-9885 HU with a profile 4 channel amp running some Polk Audio speakers.
System sounds great but I just started getting a buzzing noise that is pretty loud that varies with engine speed. I looked into it and thought I had a ground loop but nothing has seemed to fix it. If I turn my HU on and off a few times sometimes it won't make the sound. It makes it about 90% of the time. Sometimes it goes away while driving but then comes back.
What I have done so far:
-Changed the grounding point on the heaunit three times
-Changed the grounding point on the amp
-Tried grounding the RCA's (read somewhere that might work)
-Bought new RCA's
-Bought a new amp (thought it was the problem but wasn't
If I unplug the RCA's the noise goes away so it must be coming from the headunit correct? I am lost guys so please help me out.
Thanks
