Buying Used

some towers.

they're some used pioneers but the guy doesnt have a receiver anymore and i feel kinda worried bout just buying them.

suppose to be 8 ohms each.

I'm assuming your talking about a subwoofer...if there's absolutely no way to hook it up to an amp there's a few things you can do...

1. Test the coils with a dmm

2. Push down on the cone, listen/feel for any scratching/noises

3. Pop it with a 9v battery

sorry my badd bubba.

I'm testing these Pioneer towers off of craigslist before I buy them.

I was curious if taking a DMM to them would be enough to know if they are good

lol take the towers outside and run them off my mono amp?or my 2 chan?

that'd be interesting
Its not hard You're obviously not that smart, im sure the towers only have 1 set of + and - termnails, wire in series i believe to get a 16 ohm load and wire that to your AQ, or just buy them without testing and hope for the best. Dont be a fuckwad when im trying to help. If you cant carry 2 speakers outside and do wiring as simple as wiring a sub to an amp then why shouldnt that guy rip you off. Jackass.

If they've got built in crossovers you won't get a good reading...If I were you, I'd give the guy an extra 10$ to drive them to your house so you can hook them up before buying them...if he refuses then I wouldn't buy them...
