I have a 2013 Honda Civic lx. I have a pioneer avh-x5700bhs head unit. And pioneer ts- a1685r for speakers both doors and the rear ( I hate em ) they sound like trash when I turn them em so I usually leave them around 30 volume. Also these have absolutely no bass at all. So I wanted to get a really good system but I need to know how to do it and what to buy. So far I have 25ft 1/0 wire, 1 1/0 gauge wire input and 2 4g or 8g output. I have a box that will fit two 12" subs. And I had some amp kits. 4g and 8g I got from crutchfield.com I think there xfx if I'm not mistaking

I open to all suggestions ( because I'm a noob ) including replacing head unit and getting better amp kits

I don't really have a Budget

I want two 12" subs, speakers (if they are components can you tell me where exactly to install them in my car , amps

And anything else I should buy that I might need I rather to have and don't need need it then to not have it and need it.

Thanks ahead of time.

Without doing this, no speaker you put in other than stock will produce any kind of thump. Install is everything.

You'll want to run a dedicated 4 gauge run for a 4 channel amp. You'll want to run active crossovers with raw drivers since your head unit is active network capable. Leave the rears on head unit power and dont even bother upgrading the rears. Waste of time and money. Focus purely on good fronts and the install and tune. Pioneer is trash when it comes to speakers and subwoofers.

What's your idea of amazing? What music you listen to? Do you want to be super loud? Or just loud enough to hear when you're driving?

If it's the former, PA drivers and custom doors to fit em.

If it's the latter, lots of sound/vibro deadening and insulation and a stock looking install.

I personally choose PA drivers because it's always fun to see pedestrians dancing to your music or parking up somewhere and just blasting it for the homies and have people going WOW

usr great stuff spray foam to seal the door and use it to build up the door cavity abit use about 2 SQft of deadner er door. about 1 on the outter skin and 1 on the inner skin.

The use the egg crate that made out of recycled paper or polyfill behind the midbass to break up standing waves and lower reflection against the cone. that should get you ******* sound money..

So what would you suggest. For speakers and subs then?

As long as you have amps you can make it loud, but there's also "cant hear yourself screaming-heard from a mile away-brazilian club car loud. Thats about 120db loud. Mini club on wheels basically

1/3 of results is components,1/3 is installation, 1/3 is tuning.

The key is to try and make your doors as close as possible to an actual wooden speaker box. Knu kolossus is great stuff. Dynamat is overpriced. You gotta try and make your speaker enclosure as airtight as possible.

Its not gonna sound crappy if done right.

crescendo pwx 6.5 and either crescendo sts-1 or image dynamics xs28 tweeters crossed over around 2.5khz tweeters on two of the channels of your 4 channel and mids on the other 2 channels. IF you have no idea what this means or how to even properly use the network mode on your head unit... you might want components instead however if done right these will sound better than any component set under 300

subwoofers, depends on how loud you really want it along with how much space you are willing to give up trunk wise.

Makes sense. You may be right on the gain; 2 subs on 300 watts seems anemic.
